May 8 2017

AMS attorney Asha Allam presented at the USPTO’s May 5 Houston program on Lone Star Strategies for IP in China – What Texas Companies Need to Know Now. Asha addressed China-specific aspects of Section 337 litigation as part of a panel entitled “Battling Counterfeiting & Piracy in the US.” Other panelists included Michael Chu (Assistant US Attorney, Major Fraud Section, Computer Hacking/Intellectual Property) and a government attorney.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Dallas Bar Association, and the U.S. Commercial Service are bringing together thought leaders and policy makers on China IP issues from U.S. Government, academics, and the private sector to share their insights on critical issues involving China IP that will benefit U.S. IP rights holders. The Houston event was part of the USPTO China team’s nationwide efforts to help U.S. businesses and inventors understand how they can obtain and enforce IP rights in China.
